Gudauri - a ski resort located on the south-facing plateau of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia, at an elevation of 2200 meters (7217 ft.) above sea level with skiable area enjoying maximum exposure to the sun, which makes Gudauri a magnificent all-year-round tourist destination. Gudauri lies 120 km (75 mi) to the north of the capital Tbilisi. The resort offers high quality skiing opportunities. The slopes of Gudauri are completely above the tree line and are best for free-riders and are generally considered to be avalanche-safe. The ski season lasts from December to April. Heli-skiing is also available throughout the season. The total length of Gudauri ski runs exceeds 57 kilometres and meets the highest international standards. The slopes are accessible via several platter lifts, moving carpets, chairlifts and a cabin lift. In Gudauri, the base lift is situated over 2200 meters (7217 ft) above sea level and the top lift is at 3285 meters (10777 ft). The lifts are by Doppelmayr.

Individual Tours in Bakuriani

Bakuriani - a skiing resort in the Borjomi district of Georgia. It is located on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range, at an elevation of 1,700 meters (5,576 feet) above sea level. The region around Bakuriani is covered by coniferous forests (mainly made up of spruce). Tow ropes, ski-jumps, ski slopes, cross country skiing - Bakuriani has it all. There are 14 km of ski trails in total with 3 lifts and 1 funicular. There are 6 different trails catering to all levels of skier, from beginners to veterans. 22% of the slopes have snowmakers, which enables the resort to ensure a standard quality of snow on some runs. The highest mountain of the resort used for skiing is called Mount Kohta at around 2200 meters (7217 ft) above sea level.

Bakuriani is a mountain-climate resort with its main curative factors: mountain air, long time sunshine, high activity of ultraviolet rays. One can be cured here from lymphadenitis, chronic non-tuberculosis illnesses of respiratory tract and anemia. One can visit High-Mountain Botanical Gardens, the branch of the Tbilisi Botanical Institute (founded in 1919) with the best collection of alpine flora in Europe.

One day Tour in Snowy Gudauri

The route: Tbilisi – Ananuri – Gudauri – Tbilisi

Ananuri - a castle complex (XVI-XVIII cc.) on the Aragvi River in Georgia, about 45 miles (72 kilometres) from Tbilisi. The fortifications consist of two castles joined by a crenellated curtain wall. The upper fortification with a large square tower is well preserved. The lower fortification, with a round tower, is mostly in ruins. Within the complex, amongst other buildings, are two XVII c. churches. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.
